Refund and Cancellation Policy
In short
- Cancel any time in Settings (owner only); you keep full access until the end of the paid period.
- Partial months and years are not refunded, except for billing errors and the cases listed.
- Upgrades charge only the prorated difference; downgrades become a credit on future invoices.
- After cancellation your data is kept for 12 months, then deleted after 30 days’ notice.
This summary helps you find your way; the full text below is what applies.
Yemoko has no free trial and does not refund partial billing periods. You can cancel at any time, and you keep full access until the end of the period you paid for.
1. Plans, billing and renewal
- Paid plans only. Yemoko offers Starter, Business and Pro Enterprise, billed monthly or yearly in US dollars (yearly saves 10%). Prices and features are on yemoko.com/plans. There is no free trial.
- Paid in advance. Each billing period is charged at its start, by card through Stripe.
- Automatic renewal. Your plan renews for the same period until you cancel. The renewal date is shown in Settings, under Subscription Plan.
2. How to cancel and what happens next
Who can cancel. Only the company owner.
How.
- Go to Settings, then Subscription Plan.
- Choose Cancel at End of Period and confirm with your password.
- You can also email support@yemoko.com from the owner's email address.
What happens next.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Until the end of the paid period | Full access continues. You are not charged again. The owner can undo the cancellation with Keep My Subscription. |
| At the end of the paid period | The subscription ends and the company is locked. Users can sign in only to see its status or subscribe again. |
| Up to 30 days after it ends | You can ask support@yemoko.com for an export of your data. |
| 12 months after it ends | We email the owner that the data will be deleted in 30 days. |
| 13 months after it ends | The company's data is permanently deleted, unless you have subscribed again. |
Export what you need before your paid period ends; deleted data cannot be recovered.
3. Refunds
The rule. Subscription payments are not refunded, in whole or in part. This applies to monthly and yearly plans, to unused days, months or seats, and to periods when you did not use Yemoko.
The exceptions. We refund in these cases:
| Situation | What we refund |
|---|---|
| You were charged twice, or charged the wrong amount | The incorrect amount, in full |
| You were charged after your cancellation took effect | That charge, in full |
| Yemoko ends your service without cause (Terms of Service 9.3) | The unused part of your prepaid period |
| You end the service because you object to a new subprocessor and we cannot resolve it (Data Processing Agreement 4.3) | The unused part of your prepaid period |
| A law that applies to you requires a refund | What that law requires |
How to ask. Email support@yemoko.com from the owner's address within 60 days of the charge, with the date and amount. Approved refunds go back to the original card through Stripe. They usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
4. Upgrades and downgrades
The owner or a director can change plans in Settings, under Subscription Plan.
| Change | When it applies | What you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade to a higher plan | Immediately | The prorated difference for the rest of the current period, charged at once to the card on file. If the card is declined, the plan does not change. Renewals then use the new price. |
| Monthly to yearly | Immediately; a new yearly period starts | The yearly price, minus a credit for the unused part of the current month |
| Downgrade to a lower plan | Immediately, after password confirmation | Nothing now. The unused part of the higher plan becomes a credit on your next invoices. It is not paid out in cash. |
A downgrade is blocked until your company fits the lower plan's limits, for example its number of users or API keys. Plans cannot be changed while a cancellation is pending; the owner must first choose Keep My Subscription.
5. Failed payments, chargebacks and price changes
Failed renewal. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it over the following days and your company stays available meanwhile. Update your card in Settings to settle it. If Stripe stops retrying, your company is suspended: users can sign in only to see the account status and pay. Paying the amount due restores access at once. If the subscription is then cancelled, section 2 applies.
Chargebacks. Please contact support@yemoko.com before disputing a Yemoko charge with your bank; most billing problems are fixed faster that way. While a chargeback is open, we may suspend the company.
Price changes. We give at least 30 days' notice by email before a price increase. It applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
Taxes. Prices exclude taxes. Where we must charge sales tax, VAT or similar taxes, they are added to your invoice and refunded only together with the charge they relate to.
6. Payments your clients make to you
This policy covers only your Yemoko subscription. Refunds of payments your clients make on your invoices, through Stripe, Flutterwave or CinetPay, are between you and your client. You issue them from Yemoko or from your provider account. Each of those payments carries the provider's processing fee plus Yemoko's platform fee (for example 0.6% on a domestic card payment through Stripe, or 1% through Flutterwave or CinetPay), as listed in Terms of Service 5.2. Yemoko's platform fee on a refunded payment is not returned, and providers generally keep their own fee too. The rules for disputes and chargebacks on those payments are in Terms of Service 5.3.
